56% of Americans back Obama’s Qur'an apology

More than half of Americans support President Barack Obama’s apology for the burning of Muslim holy Qur'an at a US military base in Afghanistan. According to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Monday, 56 per cent of those polled backed Obama’s move, which has harshly criticized by the Republican presidential candidates. Twenty-three per cent of those surveyed opposed Obama’s apology, issued to Afghan leader Hamid Karzai. Besides that, 66 per cent of those polled said that US troops should return home immediately.
