72 suspects arrested in Afghan province

Afghan security forces have arrested 72 suspects from the jurisdiction of Achin District in eastern Nangarhar province during a wide-scale military operations, Khama Press reported.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Defense states that a number of heavy and light weapons were also confiscated by the security forces during the operation.
The statement adds all of the arrested suspects were taken to the police headquarters of Achin District for further interrogation.
According to the statement, the operation started yesterday and ended successfully later in the afternoon.
After taking full responsibility of the security from NATO forces this year, Afghan National Security Forces have begun large scale operation across the country.
The operations are led independently by the Afghan National Security Forces and NATO forces only train and support them in the time of need.
One large scale military that begun about three weeks by hundreds of soldiers of the Afghan National Security Forces is still ongoing in Helmand Province.
Around two hundreds of insurgents have been reportedly killed in this operation which is named Operation Zulfiqar.
The other operation as been initiated in Zabul province to release the 30 abducted passengers by a group of unidentified gunmen.
