Eight people were arrested overnight Monday, Israel's army and witnesses said. An Israeli army spokeswoman said five people were arrested for security questioning in Hebron. Locals told Ma'an that Israeli forces raided the northern town of Yabad, Jenin, and arrested three men. Haydar Yousif Amarnah, Majdi Hasan Amarnah and Namiq Tariq Abu Bakr were named by witnesses as those detained. Israel's army had no reports of the arrests. Palestinians living in the occupied territories are routinely arrested by Israeli forces, usually on the pretext of security. Around 40 percent of Palestinian men living in the occupied territories have been detained by Israel at some point in their lives.
