A Jordanian officer was killed in a rocket attack on the Kingdom's peacekeeping force in Afghanistan's Lugar Province on Saturday, the armed forces general command said in a statement , carried by Jordanian Petra news agency . It said that at 12:00 noon today, four rockets hit a position of the Jordanian force which provides humanitarian assistance to Afghans in Lugar, killing First-Lieutenant Abdullah Suleiman Nawafleh. It said the military command, in coordination with the Jordanian force in Afghanistan, was taking the necessary measures to fly the body of Nawafleh home. The command mourned its martyr pledging that the Jordanian armed forces would pursue their humanitarian missions wherever they are asked while paying tribute to the officer as "one in a line of martyrs who fell sacrificing their lives for the service of humanity and its just causes in various world spots."
