At least 35 militants were killed by the Pakistani security forces in the country's northwest district of Hangu Friday morning, reported local Urdu TV channel Geo. According to the report, a group of militants early Friday morning launched an attack on a checkpost in the Khadazai area of Hangu, a district located some 70 kilometers southwest of Peshawar, the largest city in northwest Pakistan. During the exchange of fire with militants, the security forces killed 35 militants and wounded many others, said the report. One security person was also killed and four others were injured in the clash, it said. Following this, the army also launched an operation in the Balras area of Hangu.
