President Mahmoud Abbas Sunday began his speech addressing the thousands of Palestinians who attended the official and popular reception at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah, saying “now, we have a state.†The Palestinian President addressed the people, who came to celebrate the vote on Palestine with him, after the UN session that upgraded the status of Palestine to a non-member observer state, by saying: “November 29, 2012, became a turning point in the history of our national struggle.†About 75% of world countries have voted in favor of the Palestinian bid at the UN. President Abbas said, “We are not alone because Allah, the world and history are with us. The future is ours.†He reiterated that unity and reconciliation are the only guarantee to victory. President Abbas affirmed that Al-Quds will always be the capital of Palestine and said that this recognition changes the situation on ground, according to a report of Palestine News and Information Agency 'WAFA.'
