Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Beirut on Tuesday, for a two-day state visit to Lebanon. During the visit President Abbas will meet Lebanese President Michel Suleiman and other senior Lebanese officials along with Palestinian leaders in Lebanon for talks focussing on the latest developments in the region with emphasis on the palestinian cause and Palestinian attitudes towards the Palestinian Authority''s request to obtain the recognition of the State of Palestine at the UN next September. Lebanon will be next month as President of the Security Council and the President of the Arab Group at the United Nations. The visit coincides with the Palestinian delegation going to the UN Security Council to demand recognition of Palestinian state in the second half of the month of September.
