President Mahmoud Abbas Tuesday said that when Israel recognizes the terms of reference of the peace process and halt all settlement activities, “then we are ready to resume negotiations.” Abbas told reporters, in Ramallah, that the results of the meeting scheduled for Tuesday in Jordon between the Palestinian and Israeli negotiators, will become visible in a day or two in order to lay the necessary ground for the resumption of negotiations. He expressed hope that Jordan, host of the talks, will succeed in bringing the peace process back on track. The planned meeting will first include a general meeting between the Quartet representatives with the participation of the Palestinian and Israeli negotiators and then the two parties will hold a one-on-one meeting.
