Abbas meets a US congressional delegation

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas conferred here on Friday with a US congressional delegation led by Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee in Congress Ed Royce. Abbas informed the US congressional delegation of the US-Palestinian contacts which came after the recent visit US president BARACK oBAMA to palestine and the following visits US secretary of state john kerry paid to the region and efforts exerted to revive the stalled middle east peace process. The Palestinian President reaffirmed the palestinian side’s strict commitment to realize just and durable peace to establish the Palestinian independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. Obama visited Ramallah last March and met with President Abbas .It was the first ever visit by Obama to the region in his second term of office.
