Abbas meets chief of the council of Russian Muftis

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Friday met with Chief of the Council of Russian Muftis Sheikh Rawi Ayn al-Din, briefing him on the latest political developments, and the situation in occupied Jerusalem and Israeli violations against the city with the aim of Judaizing it. Abbas is currently on a visit to Moscow, the first for him as president of the State of Palestine. He previously visited the country as president of the Palestinian Authority and secretary general of the PLO. Palestine was granted UN nonmember observer status following an overwhelming majority vote in November.
