Abbas reiterates PA’s commitment to peace process

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said the Palestinian Authority is committed to all agreements and other international resolutions aimed at ending the Israeli occupation and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. During a meeting held here last night with visiting Swedish Deputy Prime Minister Jan Bjorklund , Abbas lauded Sweden to support the PA and the Palestinian people to achieve a of just and comprehensive peace in the region. The Palestinian President briefed the Sweden official on the latest developments of the peace process, underlining continued Israeli intransigence to not halt settlement activity and recognize the Palestinian state within the 1967 borders.
