Abu Rudeineh: Resettlement and alternative homeland are outright rejected

Presidential Spokesperson, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, said “We are on the same page with King Abdallah II; that Jordan is Jordan and Palestine is Palestine. Resettlement and alternative homeland are outright rejected,” said Abu Rudeineh.Abu Rudeineh’s statements came on the heels of statements made by the Jordanian King Abdallah II, rejecting that his country would serve as an alternative homeland for Palestinian refugees.He described thePalestinian Jordanian relations as distinct and historical and said they are based on full mutual confidence and coordination in all relevant issues.He added: “President Mahmoud Abbas’s strategy is based on around the clock consultation and coordination with Jordan,' stressing their mutual agreement regarding the terms of reference of the peace process. “Our shared policy is based on a two-state solution and East Jerusalem as the capital of the Palestinian state.” This comes amid growing concerns among the Jordanians about the possible impacts of the US Secretary of State, John Kerry’s proposed framework agreement and what will be its effect on Jordan.
