Afghan forces detain Taliban commander

Security forces captured a Taliban commander in Taliban former stronghold the southern Kandahar province on Sunday, a statement of National Directorate for Security (NDS), or the country's national spy agency, said. "The Special Forces of NDS have captured a Taliban commander from Panjwai district of Kandahar province," the statement released here Sunday said. Without mentioning the name of the captured man, the statement added during the investigation, the arrested militant admitted his relations with the Taliban leadership and commanding a 12-member group in Kandahar province. Taliban militants fighting the government haven't made comment.
