Afghan gun battle leaves 4 killed, 3 injured

Gun battle between two armed groups in the eastern Wardak province on Sunday night left four militants dead and injured three others, a statement of provincial administration sent to media outlets on Monday said. "The armed supporters of Taliban outfit and militants loyal to the Islamic party of Hizb-e-Islami group clashed in Dadil area of Nurkh district in Wardak province last night during which four Taliban fighters were killed and three others injured," the statement said. Like Taliban militants, the radical Islamic party the Hizb-e- Islami headed by former Premier Gulbudin Hekmatyar has been fighting against government and NATO-led troops in Afghanistan. Neither Taliban nor Hizb-e-Islami has made comment over the report.
