We mistrust the military Tribunal, Salafist clergyman Ahmad Aseer harangued supporters during today's sit-in in downtown Beirut. He demanded a quick release of Jihadists detained in Roumyeh prison to spare the country unforetold consequences. Aseer proposed an amnesty or shorter imprisonment terms for Sunni Salafists and lambasted the Military Tribunal for daring to go too far in maltreating them. He questioned the exact purpose behind Military Court's incarcerating them and vowed to coexist peacefully with other religious sects albeit; he would never consent to being counted as an inferior defeated sect.
