President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Monday that Iran should play an active and effective role in the United Nations (UN) General Assembly. President Ahmadinejad made the remarks prior to his departure for New York to take part in the 66th session of the UN General Assembly. The President said his visit to New York mainly aimed at considering reforms in global management. He also said he is planned to hold separate meetings with a number of world leaders as well as various American groups and the Iranians residing in the US. President Ahmadinejad added at the end of his visit to New York, he would visit Venezuela, Mauritania and Sudan. He is to attend Tehran-Caracas joint economic commission in Venezuela.
