President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that the interventions of foreigners will never serve the interests of the Syrian nation and other regional nations. President Ahmadinejad made the remarks in a meeting with the Syrian Parliament speaker Mahmoud al-Abrash in Tehran on Sunday evening. “Democracy and freedom are rights of all nations which can only be achieved through dialogue and common understanding. It goes without saying that the deployment of NATO forces cannot bring about justice and freedom for nations of the region,” he added. Syrian Parliament Speaker Mahmoud al-Abrash for his part said that Iran and Syria have a lot of common enemies and the recent political developments in the Middle East provides a good opportunity to distinguish between real friends and enemies. “If countries which claimed to be friends with Syria had helped Syria throughout these years, Syria would not have been facing the problems as it is now,” the Syrian officials added.
