Ajman instructs delivery of winter aid to Syrian refugees

In support of the ''Our Hearts with the Syrian People'' initiative called for by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to provide relief to Syrian refugees in neighbouring countries, H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, has given instructions for the delivery of kind humanitarian assistance to the Syrian refugees. ''The U.A.E. cannot afford to stand idly towards the humanitarian tragedy of the brotherly Syrian people ....the U.A.E. has responded promptly to the President's humanitarian appeal to come forward to provide food staples and other essentials for the Syrian refugees in neighbouring countries to enable them to survive the severe winter weather,'' Sheikha Azza bint Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Director-General of the Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi Charity Foundation, said. She added that the Foundation had already available winter supplies including 80 tons of dates, 6000 blankets, 4000 jackets and 1500 pairs of shoes. The winter relief material will be distributed to Syrian refugees in coordination with the campaign sponsors, the U.A.E. Red Crescent Authority.
