
Al Azhar said on Wednesday that it would continue providing support to the Maldivian Muslims who want to study in Egypt.
Secretary-General of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif Islamic Research Academy (AIRA) Mohie Ed-Deen Afifi made the remarks during a meeting with a delegation from the Maldives National University (MNU).
During the meeting, Afifi and the university's vice chancellor discussed means to boost cooperation.
The discussions covered plans to dispatch a number of professors to deliver lectures on Islamic jurisprudence at the MNU, Afifi said after the meeting.
