Al-Azhar imam, Thai ambassador in Cairo probe joint cooperation

Al Azhar Grand Imam Sheikh Ahmed el Tayyeb discussed during a meeting with Thai Ambassador here Peerasak Chantavarin means of promoting joint cooperation in the educational field.
In statements on Monday, el Tayyeb said that the Thai students in Al Azhar are taken care of and welcomed by the officials, adding that this Islamic edifice is ready to establish a center for educating Arabic language in Thailand.
For his part, the Thai diplomat said that the government of his country expresses its appreciation for Al Azhar and el Tayyeb for providing scholarships to the Thai students.
He further reiterated that Al Azhar backs moderate ideas and that it is respected by his nation.
