The Arab nation has been warned of internal and external dangers threatening its security, stability and growth. Representatives Council Speaker and Head of the parliamentary delegation's executive committee made the remarks in a speech before the 20th conference of the Arab Parliamentary Union (APU) hosted by Kuwait. He conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa as well as his best wishes of every success to the conference. He said external conspiracies against the Arab nation are still continuing in different forms to divide the Arab countries and drive wedges among them. He added Bahrain was not immune of those conspiracies during the past three years. "Nevertheless, despite the regrettable incidents, Bahrain continued the path of transparent dialogue between all social components out of belief that dialogue is the sole way to solve problems," he affirmed, adding that Bahrain started its democratic reform project more than a decade ago and has been able to bring about many achievements in various fields despite rarity of its resources. He also stressed that the Bahraini people, thanks to their loyalty to their leadership and the support of the GCC countries were able to overcome hardships and fast-track democratic reforms and development. He added holding the conference under the theme "Jerusalem the Capital of the Palestinian State" is a message to Israel and the whole world underlining Jerusalem's Arab and Islamic identity. " It also shows that this issue will remain the prime concern of Arab people in spite of all challenges and difficulties," he said.He slammed decisions taken by Israel as a blatant challenge to the UN resolutions which underscored the Arab identity of Jerusalem, adding that Israel's annexation and settlement policy has no legal foundation and that Jerusalem will remain an Arab city despite everything. He called on the international community to act swiftly and seriously to enforce the UN resolutions on Jerusalem and the rest of the occupied Arab lands. The Representatives Council Speaker and his Arab counterparts met Kuwaiti Amir Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah and discussed with him Arab and Islamic issues.
