The meetings took place on the eve of the opening session of PUIC's ninth session, Al-Ghanim said in statements to KUNA and Kuwait TV. "Kuwait is the current presidency of the Arab Parliament and the GCC parliamentary union," he noted. On the consultative meeting of GCC parliamentarians, he said the meeting, based on the sisterly ties among the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, unanimously approved the GCC candidates for the membership of the various specialized committees of the PUIC. "Similarly, the representatives of Arab group were approved uncontested during the consultative meeting of the group," Al-Ghanim disclosed. MP Faisal Al-Shaye' represented Kuwait at the meetings of PUIC committee on political and foreign affairs, he added, noting that the PUIC expert-level meetings stated on Saturday, February 15. The ninth session gathers representatives of some 40, out of the 53 PUIC member states.
