National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim sent telegrams of condolences on Monday to the Philippines' Speaker of the House of Representatives Feliciano Belmonte and President of the Senate Franklin Drilon over the deaths caused by the typhoon (Utor), which hit several areas in the country. Al-Ghanim expressed his deepest sympathy to the families of the victims, wishing the wounded would get-well soon. Al-Ghanim also expressed the deepest condolences of the Kuwaiti National Assembly to the Philippines. Typhoon Utor displaced more than 100,000 people from three cities in 14 provinces, after it hit the Philippines last Monday. At least eight people were killed by the disaster, and many others wounded, while towns were badly damaged.
