Prime Minister Dr. Wael al-Halqi, head of the Ministerial Committee tasked with Implementing the Political Program to Solve the Crisis, stressed the importance of the role of journalists in enhancing the culture of dialogue and helping the government in confronting the terrorist and extremist mentality. During the meeting of the Committee with representatives of the national mass media on Saturday, al-Halqi highlighted the role of the national media outlets in unmasking the misguiding media campaign which aims at spreading sedition in the region. He hailed the role of the national media in conveying the reality of the events and revealing the plot against the country, adding that the national media outlets have made a big strides recently. Al-Halqi said that the government is able to confront all challenges which aim at undermining the capabilities and potential of the Syrian people. For their part, the attending journalists stressed their support to the political program, hailing the efforts exerted by the Committee in this regard. They proposed suggestions and recommendations to enhance the dialogue through being open to national opposition and enhancing its role in addition to making communications with all spectrum of the Syrian people. Al-Halqi: Enhancing National Dialogue as Vital Phenomenon for Building Society Prime Minister, Dr. Wael al-Halqi stressed the importance of enhancing the concept of national dialogue as a vital and positive phenomenon that contributes to building society. During his meeting on Saturday with the national dialogue follow-up committee resulting from Tehran Conference, al-Halqi said that the government ''respects the opposition inside and outside the country who believe in partnership in building the homeland without foreign interference.'' Al-Halqi hailed the outcomes of Tehran National Dialogue Conference which serve in enhancing national unity, precluding foreign interference in the domestic affairs, combating terrorism and drying up its sources and rebuilding Syria on democratic bases. The delegation members lauded the great efforts of the ministerial committee tasked with implementing the political program for solving the crisis and the strides it made in terms of enhancing national unity. Al-Halqi added that the government backs all figures who are willing to engage in the national dialogue.
