Al-Saleh meets French FM

Kuwait Finance Minister Anas Al-Saleh commended Monday the high level of relations with France in many domains, and said the two countries were keen on further cementing these ties specially in economic and trade spheres. Al-Saleh was speaking to KUNA following his meeting with French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius at the Foreign Ministry building, saying they discussed economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. Al-Saleh also discussed Kuwait's request to waiving Schengen visa of Kuwaiti citizens, which would facilitate movement of Kuwaiti investors and businessmen as well as increasing trade exchange. "The French side promised to support Kuwait's request," said Al-Saleh. He voiced relief for the development of economic and diplomatic relations between Kuwait and France. Al-Saleh met earlier today with Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault and Minister of Industry Arnaud Montebourg. Al-Saleh, accompanied by a delegation from the public and private sectors, is in Paris to co-chair a meeting of the Economic and Trade Ministerial Committee with French Minister of Foreign Trade Nicole Bricq. The meeting began at experts' level earlier today. The two countries will discuss during the ministerial committee meetings how to develop financial, trade and investment cooperation, as well as in domains of development, industry, planning and information technology.
