A top Somali militant wanted in the United States was killed amid clashes between members the terror group al-Shabaab, a spokesman for the group said. Ibrahim al Afghani, a senior member of al-Shabaab who had a $5 million U.S. bounty on his head, was killed during a shootout between two factions of the group on June 20, CNN reported. Al-Shabaab spokesman Abu Musab said Moalim Burhan, another top member, was also killed during the clash. A U.S. administration official said the United States believes the report of al Afghani's death to be true. About a month ago, an inner struggle began between al-Shabaab leader Ahmed Abdi Godane and those loyal to him and a smaller faction that supports ex-spokesman Muktar Ali Robow. Al Afghani and Burhan were both members of those loyal to Robow.
