
Albania's Central Election Commission (CEC) announced Tuesday the final result of June 23 parliamentary elections, putting an end to the electoral process six weeks from the election day. According to the CEC, the Socialist Party-led left-wing coalition Alliance of the European Albania won 83 seats in parliament, while the Democratic Party-led right-wing coalition Alliance for Employment, Welfare and Integration got 57 mandates. In percentage, the former got 57.63 percent of votes and the latter got 39.46 percent, the CEC said. The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Presence in Albania welcomed conclusion of the electoral process. In a press statement, it expressed readiness to cooperate with the new parliament and government.
