Algerian Foreign Minister Mourad Medelci held, talks here on Tuesday with his Bulagarian counterpart Nikolay Mladenov, attended by a number of officials from both countries. Mladenov, in a statement upon his arrival in Algeria for a two-day official visit, praised the role Algeria plays with respect to security in North Africa and in Mali. Referring to bilateral relations, he said that the trade relations between the two countries have seen big growth, yet need to be further strengthened especially in the energy and construction fields. Algeria’s (APS) news agency said that the Bulgarian Foreign Minister’s visit will allow the assessment of bilateral cooperation and opening discussion on the ways and prospects of enhancing it, in addition to exchanging views on regional and international political issues of mutual concern.
