
A military transport aircraft belonging to the Algerian Air Force crashed Tuesday in the country 's eastern Oum El Bouaghi province, killing 103 people, local media said. Ennahar TV said the air traffic control of Algeria's Constantine Airport had lost contact with the C-130 Hercules aircraft before the accident, adding that 103 passengers on board were killed in the crash. The plane carrying family members of military staff was en route from Tamenrasset, southern Algeria, to Constantine airport, eastern the country, El Watan newspaper reported. It said bad weather, including snow falling, is likely behind the crash. Ambulances have rushed to the scene to provide first aid to any survivors.
