Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika received British Wednesday British Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, Philip Hammond, who arrived on a two-day visit to Algeria, the Algerian Press Agency reported.
Hammond said his country and Algeria share "similar analyses" on security issues.
"I came to Algeria to continue security cooperation because we face the same threats and have similar analyzes on how to take up the challenges facing Libya, for example," Hammond said.
Moreover, he added that the "success" of the first Algerian-British economic forum held last December in London "shows the strength of relations between the two countries and the growing volume of trade and investment between Algeria and Great Britain."
He said his visit aims at "deepening and strengthening the relations between the two countries and also reaffirming UK commitment to help Algeria in its ambitious plans to modernize and diversify its economy."
