Algerian speaker urges Muslim states to prevent Judaisation of Holy Quds

Algerian Parliament Speaker Mohamed al-Arab Weld Khalifa cautioned against the plots hatched by Israel to Judaize the Holy Quds (Jerusalem), and called on the Muslim states to take the necessary actions to prevent Tel Aviv from implementing its plans. The Algerian parliament speaker’s remarks came as Israel has said that it would continue its Judaization of the Holy Quds. “We should confront Israel’s Judaization efforts in the Holy Quds,” the Algerian parliament speaker said, addressing the 9th meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Inter-Parliamentary Union in Tehran on Tuesday. Khalifa further urged the Muslim world to pay special attention and give special care to the Palestinian issue, saying that "the issue of Qods should stand atop the agenda" of all Muslim affairs. In October, Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh condemned Israel’s efforts to judaize the Holy Quds and the al-Aqsa Mosque. In a televised speech, Haniyeh also slammed Israel’s expansionist policies and the regime’s crimes against the Palestinian nation. He called on all Palestinians to act against the expansionist measures of the Tel-Aviv regime across the occupied territories, particularly the Holy Quds Haniyeh also asked Palestinians to protect the city’s mosques, especially the al-Aqsa Mosque, against Tel Aviv regime’s excavation plans. Israel has long been pursuing a Judaization plot to change the identity of the region. Ever since the 1967 Six-Day War, Israel has been increasingly exercising its Judaization scenario all across the occupied lands in Palestine and the Golan Heights (in Syria). Last year, Israel's inner cabinet decided to speed up construction of homes for Jews in Arab East Quds and in other nearby settlements to punish the Palestinians for winning membership in the UN cultural agency, UNESCO. Since then, Israel has issued announcements for the construction of 2,057 new homes in Arab East Quds and 1,241 in the West Bank, official figures show. At least 200,000 Israelis live in a dozen settlement neighborhoods in East Quds, which was captured by Israel in 1967 and annexed in an aggressive move never recognized internationally.
