Officials said two government employees in China have been suspended from their jobs for allegedly handcuffing a 13-year-old girl and parading her around town. The county government said in a statement released Tuesday that they are investigating the two men, Yuan Zehong, the top Communist party official in the Kele Township, and Chen Song, a local police officer. The two men allegedly handcuffed Rao Yao and marched her up and down a street for about 20 minutes on April 6 after the teen accidentally spilled water on a government car carrying the deputy mayor, CNN said. The deputy mayor allegedly physically fought with the girl, who was then detained for 12 hours. The allegations first appeared on the social media website Weibo, CNN reported. However, Yuan, as well as other local security officials, said the girl was placed in a police vehicle after she kicked and beat the deputy mayor, and that she wasn't paraded around, CNN said. Officials said an investigative team probing the incident was set up Monday.
