Ambassador to Iraq dismisses allegations on Peninsula Shield

Kuwait Ambassador to Iraq Ghassan Al-Zawawi dismissed as "groundless" remarks attributed to him to the effect that Kuwait would withdraw from the joint Gulf forces, known as the Peninsula Shield, if the latter threatened Iraq. Ambassador Al-Zawawi categorically denied making such remarks, stressing that he did not give any statements to media on this issue. He added that he has had previously denied making such a statement. He urged everybody spreading such fabricated statements to pursue accuracy.
