Iran’s Ambassador to Serbia Abolqasem Delfi said that the US new scenario that Iran hired a Mexican drug cartel to kill Saudi ambassador to Washington is baseless. In an interview with Serbain newspaper, Danas, he added that the Islamic Republic of Iran has categorically denied the accusation and described it childish. 'The US administration is facing terrible problems inside the country and in Iraq and Afghanistan as well . Under the current circumstances, it wants to divert the public attention from them by resorting to such plots,' he said. They offered no document in proof of their claims, indicating that their claim is false, Delfi said, adding that the conspiracy aimed to spoil Iran’s ties with the regional nations. On Iran’s ties with regional nations, he also said that Iran has friendly relations with all the Persian Gulf littoral states such as Saudi Arabia. Given Iran’s national and international capacities in various sectors, such plots will never be able to stop Iranian national progress, he said.
