Arab League chief condemns Turkish airstrkis on northern Iraq

Secretary-General of the Arab League Nabil El Araby on Tuesday condemned the Turkish airstrikes on various districts in northern Iraq.

In a statement, the A/ chief called on Turkey to respect Iraq's sovereignty over all its territory, to abide by principles of good neighborliness and agreements signed with Iraq.

Al Araby reiterated the Arab League's condemnation of all terrorist acts that targeted the security and stability of all countries in the region, calling for tightening coordination and cooperation to eliminate cross-border terrorism and enhance security and stability in the region.

Turkey has launched airstrikes against Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants about a week ago, which effectively ended the fragile peace talks between the PKK and Ankara government, following a rise in deadly violence in the country.
