The Arab League’s ministerial council started an extraordinary meeting in Cairo on Monday, chaired by the Lebanese foreign minister Adnan Mnasour. Qatar’s delegation to the meeting is led by HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabor Al Thani. The council will discuss the Palestinian Authority’s bid at the UN General Assembly for non-state UN membership. The bid is opposed by the US and Israel whereas Europe is hesitant. It will also discuss Israel’s recent attack on Yarmouk factory in Sudan , preparing for a Euro-Arab ministerial meeting and for a meeting on denuclearizing the Middle East to be held in Helsinki next month.
