
Deputy Secretary General of the Arab League Ahmad Bin Helli announced on Wednesday that the League will call in Czech ambassador to Cairo to protest against his country's plan to relocate embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to the occupied Jerusalem. In statements to the press after an emergency meeting by the League's permanent delegates here, Bin Helli said the meeting focused on the serious Israeli violations in Jerusalem and the negative comments made by Czech President Milos Zeman ahead his visit to Israel. "The Czech stance runs counter to all relevant UN resolutions and the principled stand of the European Union on the occupied Palestinian territories, " he made clear. The meeting called on the League's Secretary-General Nabil Al-Arabi to convey urgently the league's resentment to the EU High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton and the Czech ambassador to Cairo, he added.
