Arab League urges more UN help in Libya

Arab League chief Nabil el-Arabi urged the UN to find an urgent political solution for the Libyan crisis, the pan-Arab body said in a statement Friday.
In his meeting with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon on the sidelines of an anti-extremism conference in Washington, Arabi called for defusing the crisis as soon as soon to end instability and prevent any spillover of violence into neighboring states.
Arabi called for exerting more efforts to help reach a political settlement in the North African country, the statement said.
Meantime, al-Arabi has met with US Secretary of State John Kerry for talks on the latest developments in the region.
Arabi updated the US's top diplomat on efforts of the bloc to boost stability in the region, calling on the international community to support these efforts.
They discussed the latest developments in Libya and called for supporting the role of the UN envoy in finding a political solution for the Libyan crisis, the statement.
