The Arab Parliament on Wednesday condemned Israel’s approval of 1,200 new settlement homes in the occupied Palestinian territories on the eve of the re-launched peace talks between the Palestinian and Israeli sides. The parliament’s president, Ahmed Al-Jarwan said "these measures which represent an aggression on Arab lands hinder any efforts towards negotiations and expose the Israel's irreverence, and violation of international laws and charters relating to settlement". "These violations take place at a time when Israel says it is ready for peace negotiations, but its actions on the ground represent a blatant aggression on the Palestinian territories and a continuation of its fait accompli policy in light of the international community's unwillingness to curb these violations,"he added . Al Jarwan also called the international community to act promptly to put an end to Israel's settlement illegal activity in the Palestinian lands.
