
Arab League Secretary General Nabil el Araby underlined the importance of implementing the initiative of the Sudanese President Omar al Bashir which called for Arab agricultural investments in Sudan to achieve Arab food security.
This remark came during the meeting held between el Araby and the Sudanese Finance and National Economy Minister Abdel Rahman Dirar on the sidelines of the 97th session of the Arab Economic and Social Council.
El Araby underscored the keenness of the AL to carry out the initiative.
He further asserted the need to lift sanctions on Sudan to achieve comprehensive development, economic growth and stability.
The get-together took up also the Arab economic integration issues, according to a statement issued by the AL.
