Assistant Foreign Minister for Multilateral Affairs and International Security Ambassador Hisham Badr said that China asserted its support for Egypt's presidency of the UN Security Council in May.
In statements to MENA on Friday following his participation in a ministerial meeting of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Beijing, the official underlined Egypt's effective membership in the conference comes out of its keenness on boosting cooperation with friendly countries in Asia, topped by China.
Egypt's message at the CICA ministerial meeting clearly reflected its support for the Chinese chairmanship of the conference and the organization's member states in facing the common challenges, Badr said.
