On Sunday, the officers threatened to go on strike and begin a hunger strike if the interior ministry and the Assiut security directorate did not approve their request, reports the Al-Ahram Arabic website. An officer who wished to remain anonymous said they took the action due to the station head's "his inhumane behaviour towards us.
