At least ten Iraqi policemen were killed in attacks in several parts of the country yesterday. Four policemen were killed and two civilians were injured when a roadside bomb exploded east of Tikrit late last night. A police source in Salah al-Din told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that an explosive device went off near a police checkpoint in the district of Tuz Khurmatu east of Tikrit, killing four policemen and wounding two civilians were present at the time of the explosion. Meanwhile, three more policemen were also injured last night when an improvised explosive device went off in Kirkuk on Sunday evening. Police source told NINA that an improvised explosive device went off against a police patrol in Wahid Huzayran area, southern Kirkuk, wounding three policemen. In Mosul, gunmen killed three policemen at a checkpoint in central Mosul. A police source said that the gunmen opened fire on three police at a checkpoint in Bab al-Saray in central city of Mosul, killed them immediately, NINA reported.
