Australia increases its assistance to Syrian refugees

Australia announced today that it will increase its assistance to Syrian refugees in Jordan, Iraq, Turkey and Lebanon. Australian Foreign Minister Bob Carr said in a statement that Australia will increase its contribution allocated to Syrian refugees from 16 to 20 million Australian dollars to become the fourth country in the world in terms of the amount of support provided to Syrian refugees in the neighboring countries of Syria.
