
Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayeb called on Muslims in Europe to positively merge in their societies without losing their religious identity.
During a meeting with visiting Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orb?n on Thursday, Tayeb said he was keen to establish cultural and scientific relations with Hungary.
Al Azhar hopes Hungary will be a center for the Western civilization rectification to help resolve the crises of Arab and Muslim peoples, he said, expressing full readiness to cooperate with the country in training imams in Egypt.
For his part, Orb?n hailed the wide steps taken by Al Azhar chief to spread the culture of dialogue and lay the foundation of peace among world nations.
