Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ghanim Fadhl Al-Buainain today participated in the Arab Peace Initiative Committee meeting in Doha – Qatar- under the chairmanship of Qatari Premier and Foreign Minister Shaikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabr Al-Thani. Present were President of the Palestinian Authority Mahmood Abbas and Secretary General of the Arab League Dr. Nabeel Al-Arabi. The meeting discussed the upcoming visit of the Arab Ministerial Delegation to Washington to hold talks on stalled peace process in the Middle East. Mr. Al-Buainain affirmed Bahrain’s stance towards the Palestinian cause and the peace process, stressing the need to resume negotiations and halt settlement construction for the Mideast peace process to continue. The President of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas updated the session on latest peace process developments, rejecting Israel's continuous settlement policies in the Palestinian occupied territories.
