The Kingdom of Bahrain is set to host on Saturday on Sunday the 6th regular Meeting of the GCC National Assemblies' Chairpersons, in line with its keen desire to consolidate joint GCC action, achieve complementarity and union among member states, institutionalize GCC parliamentary work, unify stances and enhance GCC coordination and interaction. The meeting will discuss the memo of the Representatives and Shura Councils in Bahrain on coordinating foreign media policy of GCC legislative councils and strengthening relations with human rights organisations, and another by the UAE Federal National Council (NFC) on the establishment of a joint GCC parliamentary network, as well as other issues aiming to foster joint GCC parliamentary work. The study prepared by the NFC on the results of the regular GCC parliamentary meetings since the first which was held in Doha in November, 2007 will also be reviewed. The study included proposals to enhance the efficiency of joint GCC parliamentary work.
