Bahrain to host tomorrow the GCC Smart Card Steering Committee meeting

Bahrain in its capacity as the president of the GCC meetings current sessionas, is to host at the Gulf Hotel tomorrow , Sunday , the 9th meeting of the GCC Smart Card Steering Committee.During the two-day meeting, due to be held under the chairmanship of the President of the Central Informatics Organisation, the participants are to discuss issues pertaining to the smart card and applications that can be performed with it.They will also follow up the progress made so far regarding the use of the smart card as a means of crossing through the portals at the GCC airports and finding a common mechanism for circulating about the lost identity card .The proposed expansion of the civil number or digits on the identity card, in view of the divergent number of digits cards
