The Kingdom of Bahrain has today welcomed the formation of the National Coalition of Syria Revolutionary and opposition forces as the sole and legitimate representative of the Syrian people. The Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa expressed Bahrain's stance hoping that the establishment of the coalition would represent a step to bring together all the components of the Syrian people towards achieving its aspirations and protecting its country's territorial integrity and national sovereignty, put an end to the bloodshed and elaborate a unified vision for the future of Syria. The minister said that Bahrain looks forward to a political settlement to the Syrian crisis and an end to the cycle of violence in order to avert any further deterioration of the precarious humanitarian situation.
