Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Bahraini Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, met here on Wednesday with Canadian Foreign Minister John Baird and the delegation accompanying him, currently on a visit to Manama as part of a gulf tour.During the meeting, Crown prince Salman stressed the importance of exchanging visits at all levels between the two countries as enhancing joint cooperation.The canadian FM has so far visited Jordan and Qatar.The Bahraini senior official highlighted the role canada has been playing for boosting principles of international peace and security and championing the freedom of religions and thoughts. A number of other regional and international issues of mutual concern was also taken up.Later the bahraini crown prince met with rashad hussein, the special envoy of US president Obama to the organisation of islamic cooperation (OIC) .The Bahraini Crown Prince stressed the need to keep Bahrain away from any geopolitical interactions that could negatively affect the reform and development process in the kingdom . He also voiced hope for national reconciliation as the optimal formula for national satisfactions and reconciliations that lead to reinstating the interests of all the bahrainis.The latest regional and international developments were also taken up during the meeting.
